SecuRom’s New Internet-Required PC Game DRM


If you’ve studied music, film and game piracy for any length of time, it’s pretty clear that piracy will never be eliminated. The fight against piracy is always a game of percentages, and one market that’s losing that fight is PC Gaming. Despite no shortage of annoying copy-protection systems like Starforce, PC game sales continue to plunge, and developers are shifting their attention to the console industry, where the need for hardware mod-chips and online verification systems make piracy slightly harder.
